​Scenic Artist and Designer

The project was to copy a colorful painting but only in black and white to better see and compare values between colors. I chose "Love by the Lake" by Leonid Afremov.

I started by sizing the muslin with gray paint, then created a grid and cartooned it with chalk. Finding a tool I liked took a bit, but a paint pad ended up working the best, rather than a brush.
