Tree:

The tree was huge; we had the wood arranged on the theater's back wall, projected and charcoaled the outline, and scumbled darkest to lightest colors. Then we used leaf-shaped sponge stamps to create the hint of the leaves all over.

Attic:

The attic wall was created with textured cardboard-like rectangles that were glued in place, and plaster, which had strings placed under it that were pulled out while the plaster was still wet to create cracks.

Wood Grain:

There were many locations with wood graining, which was done with a light tan base coat and a fairly thick wood color that was wiped away with a rag based on the grain direction.

The doors also required trompe l'oeil work, so before wood graining, we marked out the panels with Sharpie so that it would be visible after the graining and aid in the details.

Stained Glass:

There were stained glass windows, which were done on Plexiglass. The lead details were made from spike tape that was colored black with a Sharpie. The colors within each " lead" framwork was plainted with several Krylon stained glass spray paints. Areas of different colors were masked out with paper towels.

Stone Arches:

The church doorway and window arches base was a simple scumble, spatter, and again. The somewhat tricky part was making sure the stone grout lines were at the correct angles and distances along the arch, which we accomplished with a flexible ruler and math.

School Walls:

The wainscot was a moulded panel we already had; we painted a light gray base, and aged it by applying a darker gray and wiping it away with a rag. The wall above the wainscot was created by scumbling with rollers.
