I started out by cartooning the image out on the paper that the scrim was then stretched on top of. To maintain a straight line, I used the scrim's selvage edge and a string that was strung through the scrim in a straight line.

I stapled the scrim down, then went color by color to fill it in with a dry brush technique and thick paint. This created a texture similar to the reference material, so I didn't mind. For the letters, I created a stencil and stippled the paint.
