The Drop:

This drop was intended to have a watercolor style appearance, so the paints we used were quite watered down, and large sections of it had to be done all at once, while still wet, so that there wouldn’t be hard lines. Once the general colors were on, we outlined everything with a thicker, dark brown to give distinction. The BYUI scene shop does not have enough floor room to paint a drop on the ground, so we had it starched and painted while tacked to the back wall.

Brick Wall:

The brick wall was created by using a specially cut roller that created a grout effect on top of the red base. Dark blue lines were added for shadows.

Old Planks:

The stage floor was meant to look like old planks, which were done with a grayish scumble, and a graining brush with watery brown paint. Dark blue was intermittenly lined to create distinctive planks.
